Introduction:

Our Approach to This Proposal

This proposal is built on limited direct input at this stage, it reflects our own research into how leading global platforms handle hybrid B2B and B2C commerce, applied to what we understand of the goals so far.

Consider this a strong starting point, not a fixed spec.

Once we go deeper on the specific buyers, catalog, and operational constraints, we'll tailor the solution for you.

Who We Are

We are a systems and product engineering partner for businesses who need software built right and not just built fast with 3+ years of industry experience.

We work end-to-end: architecture, design, development, and long-term maintenance.

Our team has shipped across fintech, healthtech, ecommerce, and social platforms

Ecommerce

Salance engine, multi-merchant storefronts, catalog to checkout

Fintech

Payment infrastructure, prepaid cards, banking integrations

Healthtech

Pocket EMR, clinical workflow tools

Mobile

iOS and Android, React Native, live in production

Understanding the Opportunity

The core needs:

  1. B2C buyers want speed, browse and buy and done.
  1. B2B buyers need control: approvals, structured ordering, bulk purchasing.

One platform, two experiences, same backend.

B2C Buyers

Speed and frictionless experience. Browse, buy, done. Fast checkout, guest access, promotions.

B2B Buyers

Control and structure. Approvals, hierarchies, bulk ordering, quotes, requisitions without a sales rep for every transaction.

Feature Set:

1. Essentials (Web + Mobile)

Shared / Platform Core

Both segments hit this layer:

  • Product catalog and PIM, centralized inventory integration across sales and marketing
  • Search and discovery: faceted search, filters, autocomplete
  • Identity, auth, and role-based access control for businesses
  • Cart and checkout
  • Order Management System: order status, returns, cancellations
  • Payments layer: cards and wallets for B2C, invoicing and ACH/wire for B2B
  • Notifications: email, SMS, push
  • Admin and back-office console: merchandising, order ops, user management
  • Content layer: headless CMS for product pages, landing pages, campaigns
  • Analytics and reporting: sales, funnel, cohort

B2C-Specific

  • Guest checkout plus fast account creation
  • Wishlist, product reviews, ratings
  • Promotions and discount codes, cart abandonment flows

Mobile-Specific

  • Push notifications: order status, cart reminders, restock alerts
  • Biometric login
  • Offline-friendly cart, syncs on reconnect

B2B-Specific

  • Company accounts with buyer hierarchies: admin, purchaser, approver roles, spending limits
  • Quote and RFQ workflow: request quote, negotiate, convert to order
  • Requisition lists, reorder lists, bulk order upload via CSV
  • Self-service reorder from order history

2. Future Implementations

These are phased in post-launch, once v1 is live and generating real usage data.

Admin

  • Integration layer: ERP, CRM, WMS/3PL, shipping carriers, payment processors

B2C

  • Personalized recommendations, customers also bought

Mobile App

  • Barcode and QR scanning, useful for B2B reorder-by-scan in warehouse and procurement contexts

Platform-Wide

  • Loyalty and referral programs
  • Advanced BI and analytics dashboards
  • Agentic commerce readiness: clean product feeds and APIs for AI shopping agents

B2B

  • Contract, tiered, and customer-specific pricing: different price lists per account, negotiated rates
  • Multi-level approval chains for purchase orders
  • Net terms invoicing, Net 30/60/90, credit limits, purchase-on-account
  • Punchout and EDI-readiness: architected for even if not built in v1, larger B2B buyers expect it eventually
  • Account-specific catalogs: not every SKU visible to every buyer

Proposed Solution & Expected Results

We build a single composable commerce engine with two front-end experiences - a consumer storefront and a business buyer portal - both powered by the same catalog, accounts, and order infrastructure.

Expected Results

  • Single platform serving both revenue channels, no duplicated catalog or inventory management
  • B2B buyers get self-service ordering: quotes, structured requisitions, reorders, without needing a sales rep for every transaction
  • B2C buyers get fast, frictionless checkout comparable to leading DTC platforms
  • Admin team manages both channels from one back-office, no context-switching between systems
  • Architecture built to extend - new payment methods, new integrations, new markets, without a replatform

Proof of Work

Salance: In-House Ecommerce Engine

Built end-to-end to power e-com operations with unified catalog, dual-mode checkout and order management.

Ecommerce Storefronts

Multiple merchant ecommerce storefronts powered through Salance, serving real customers everyday

Fintech & Wealth Management

Prepaid card infrastructure for a commercial bank, feature development on a bank-issued payment app, and a full-stack wealth management platform with banking integrations for large-value payments.

Broader Portfolio

BumpedIn (location-based social platform, iOS and Android), SriPay merchant portal and mobile app, DocRemark (pocket EMR system), AMC (exam prep platform), and TryTo.AI (interview prep platform).

Suggested Tech Stack

Stack and hosting choices flex based on scale expectations and budget. This is our recommended default for a build of this size.

Estimated Timeline:

6 Months

Web and mobile development run in parallel from the start rather than staggering mobile behind web. This keeps the schedule tight and keeps the full team utilized from early on.

App store submission is its own dedicated phase since Apple and Google review adds real, sometimes unpredictable, lead time separate from development work.

Investment

Essentials Scope

Core platform, web app, and mobile app covering both B2B and B2C

Estimated Range

LKR 6.5M – 7M

Future Implementations

Scoped and priced separately once v1 is live

This figure covers the essentials only. This will be firmed up into a precise figure once scope is finalized directly with the client.

Ongoing Maintenance & Support

Essential Tier

LKR 1,050,000 per annum

  • Uptime monitoring, critical security patches, dependency and library updates
  • Basic server and database backups, minor bug fixes
  • OS compatibility updates for iOS and Android yearly releases
  • Database optimization, API monitoring, payment gateway checks
  • 48 to 72 hours of response time

Enterprise Tier

LKR 1,750,000 per annum

  • All of Essential Tier plus
  • 24/7 real-time performance monitoring
  • Dedicated engineering availability
  • Strict SLAs, under 4-hour emergency response
  • Compliance and security audits, SOC2 and HIPAA if applicable

Platform & Third-Party Costs

The tech stack listed above reflects an industry-standard recommendation.

Final provider selection depends on budget and expected usage - alternative options such as lower-cost hosting or different email and SMS providers can be priced out once volume expectations and cost sensitivity are known.

Next Steps

This proposal reflects our thinking based on where things stand today. The next step is a working session to go deeper on the specific buyers, catalog structure, and priorities - from there we lock scope, finalize investment, and get a firm delivery date on the calendar.

Thank You

Let's build something great together.

We're ready to go deeper on scope, answer questions, and get a working session on the calendar.

Reach out whenever you're ready to take the next step.
